Partner Platform Notice: Known Cal Issues
We are actively tracking the following known issues originating in Cal-managed flows. These may impact some customers:
- Some Should-be-Business (SBB) transactions are appearing as duplicates in the Custodia UI, which may also impact billing reports.
- Some declined transactions are being posted after the fact, which may affect billing reports.
- If expected Custodia features or functionality are unavailable or appear to be missing, please contact your Cal representative to verify that the latest Custodia platform release has been deployed to your cloud environment. In some cases, feature availability may depend on deployment status within the Cal-managed infrastructure.

What's New in v2026.23.0
This release is about getting receipts to the right person, giving finance a way to send an out-of-pocket expense back instead of killing it, and making mileage, gift cards, and Canadian physical cards work the way people actually use them.
📬 A receipt inbox that is yours
Every employee can have a personal receipt address (for example receipts-xxxx@custodia.ai). Vendors can send receipts there and they land on that person’s expenses — not in a shared pile.
- Forward from a personal Gmail or other mailbox by mapping it to your work account.
- Unknown senders are rejected instead of sitting unmatched forever.
- Matching is case-insensitive, and To / Cc are checked when the merchant is in From.
↩️ Send it back — don’t reject it
Finance can return an unpaid out-of-pocket expense to the submitter instead of marking it not-to-be-paid. The original filing comes back as new so the employee can fix it and resubmit. Paid items stay paid. The employee gets a notification (optional message from finance).
🚘 Mileage distance, no extra permission
If you own a mileage log, you can estimate driving distance without the Activity/Edit permission that managers use. Draft the trip, save, and get distances — the way self-service was supposed to work.
👀 Manager review before finance
Companies can turn on a manager review after an employee marks a card expense as ready. Finance only sees it once the manager signs off. Ask your admin if this is enabled for your company.
🎁 GiftCrowd gift cards
You can issue GiftCrowd gift cards from an activity budget: to yourself, another employee, or an external client. Budget is reserved first; the card is only charged after GiftCrowd succeeds. If the vendor fails, the reservation is released. Names on client gifts are passed through so issuance no longer fails for missing recipient name.
🏦 Canadian physical cards set the chip PIN at issuance
For Canada physical cards that require an offline PIN, the PIN is collected in the secure card-issuance step and written to the chip in the same request that creates the card. A card is never left issued without a PIN. The PIN is not stored in Custodia.
✨ Smoother day-to-day
- Airwallex clearing no longer declines a successful settlement for a missing currency.
- Weekday and hour limits on activities stay in sync from the wizard through child budgets, so the card and the UI agree.
- Notification preferences can search more than ten people or teams when choosing recipients.
- Merchant cleanup: when leaf merchants move to a new master, restricted activities and vendors follow instead of pointing at an empty master.
- AI admin configuration loads again for support/admin (tokens that were too large for the load balancer are now small enough).
