Partner Platform Notice: Known Cal Issues
We are actively tracking the following known issues originating in Cal-managed flows. These may impact some customers:
- Some Should-be-Business (SBB) transactions are appearing as duplicates in the Custodia UI, which may also impact billing reports.
- Some declined transactions are being posted after the fact, which may affect billing reports.
- If expected Custodia features or functionality are unavailable or appear to be missing, please contact your Cal representative to verify that the latest Custodia platform release has been deployed to your cloud environment. In some cases, feature availability may depend on deployment status within the Cal-managed infrastructure.
For updates, timelines, or customer-specific impact details, please contact your Cal representative directly. Cal support contact details are available here: Cal Support Hours and Contact Information.
What's New in v2026.20.0
This release is about making spend easier to capture, easier to explain, and easier to get paid back. Employees can log mileage, Canadian tax shows up from the receipt, finance can bulk-import out-of-pocket expenses, and the AI Assistant is finally a natural place to drop a file.
🚘 Mileage reimbursement, from trip to payout
Employees can now submit a Mileage Log the same way they submit a trip or an out-of-pocket expense — no spreadsheet, no guessing the distance.
- Build a trip with up to 20 legs, each with origin, destination, and date.
- Custodia calculates driving distance automatically (miles or kilometers) and estimates reimbursement from your company’s mileage rates.
- Approvers can approve the whole log, drop individual legs, or approve a partial amount.
- Approved legs become reimbursable expenses on their own — merchant Mileage Log, note showing the route (for example Toronto → Ottawa). No receipt required.
Ask your Custodia admin if Mileage Log is enabled for your company.
🍁 Canadian sales tax, captured for you
Expenses now understand Canadian tax the way Canadian receipts actually print it.
- GST, HST, PST, and QST are stored as their own amounts and rates — not lumped into a generic tax field.
- Receipt scanning fills those fields from English and French receipts, including Ontario HST splits and lines like HST (13%) $5.14.
- A new subtotal shows the spend before tax, and it’s available in search and CSV export.
Finance teams importing out-of-pocket expenses can include the same tax columns in the file.
📤 Bulk out-of-pocket import
Finance can upload a CSV of out-of-pocket expenses and let Custodia process it in the background — then employees (or admins) attach receipts and submit as usual.
- One expense per row, assigned by employee email or ID when needed.
- Imported items stay in draft until a receipt is attached and the expense is submitted.
This is turned on per company. Talk to your Custodia representative if you’d like it enabled.
🏦 Cards that keep up with more than one program
Custodia can now issue and authorize Airwallex cards alongside your existing programs — real-time approve or decline, clearing, reversals, and disputes included.
For companies running more than one card program, balances and credit limits can be tracked per program, so available spend is no longer mixed into a single bucket. This is optional and rolled out per company.
US cardholders on opted-in products will also receive an annual privacy notice (as required under GLBA / Regulation P) when their card is issued and once a year after that.
🤖 An AI Assistant that takes the receipt
The assistant now starts with Attach file — drop a receipt or screenshot and go. Large files that used to fail now upload reliably.
- During a conversation, it can ask for a file or a multiple-choice answer, not both at once.
- Saying a receipt was lost no longer pops an upload box by mistake.
- Connecting an external tool (such as Cursor) works the first time you sign in with Google or Microsoft — no more “authorization session ended.”
💡 When a card is declined, you’ll know why
Declined card spend now comes with a plain-language explanation — what happened and what to try next — instead of a raw issuer code. Authorization traces also show the merchant name and issuer, so finance and support can see who was charged at a glance.
✨ Smoother day-to-day
- Receipt rules apply immediately. Change who must attach a receipt, and the next expense uses the new rule — no stale “receipt required” leftover.
- Budget-owner approvals work on mobile. Out-of-pocket expenses and trips that route to the budget owner no longer fail in preview.
- Card bindings stick. Reallocating a budget no longer unbinds the card that was tied to it.
- Large reimbursement batches open cleanly. Employee reimbursement details with many expenses no longer error out.
- Receipts emailed in land in the right place. Forwarding to your company receipts@ address is more reliable, including through Amazon SES.
- Background jobs are easier to find. Admins can see my jobs versus everyone else’s imports.
- Support can check SMS delivery from the employee helpdesk (delivery status only — message content is not shown).
