Partner Platform Notice: Known Cal Issues
We are actively tracking the following known issues originating in Cal-managed flows. These may impact some customers:
- Some Should-be-Business (SBB) transactions are appearing as duplicates in the Custodia UI, which may also impact billing reports.
- Some declined transactions are being posted after the fact, which may affect billing reports.
- If expected Custodia features or functionality are unavailable or appear to be missing, please contact your Cal representative to verify that the latest Custodia platform release has been deployed to your cloud environment. In some cases, feature availability may depend on deployment status within the Cal-managed infrastructure.
For updates, timelines, or customer-specific impact details, please contact your Cal representative directly. Cal support contact details are available here: Cal Support Hours and Contact Information.
What's New in v2026.25.0
This release is about signing in with a passkey or authenticator app, putting receipt images on the billing statement, and finishing a cash expense that finance sent back. Gift cards, mileage receipts, regional budgets, and purchase-order buyers follow the rule you set.
🔐 Passkeys and authenticator apps
Sign-in can now use a passkey or an authenticator app, alongside SMS and voice. Your company chooses which methods are allowed. Until an admin turns the new ones on, SMS and voice stay as they are.
- A passkey is offered first when it is allowed. An authenticator app is a six-digit code, and a code from the adjacent 30-second window still counts.
- Single-use recovery codes are shown when you create them. They can enroll a replacement method. They cannot reveal a card number or set a PIN.
- You cannot remove the last sign-in method your company still allows. A deactivated user cannot finish a passkey sign-in.
🧾 Receipts on the billing statement
Ask your admin if receipt images on billing statements are enabled for your company. When they are, the statement PDF includes the receipt image under the matching card expense. Companies without that option, and ICC statements, stay on the statement you have today.
↩️ A returned cash expense can be finished
Sending an unpaid cash expense back to the submitter now opens a clarification step with the finance message. The owner can edit and send it through approval again. Re-approval brings the original budget lines back instead of creating a second set. A cash expense on a parent activity only unwinds the cash lines; the parent allocation stays.
🎁 Gift cards stay gift cards
- A gift card activity cannot be edited, locked, or have its balance changed from the grid or a CSV import, including by an admin. Refunds and transfers still go through.
- GiftCrowd issues from the gift card activity template — your company’s template when you have one, otherwise the default. The personal message is on the first email to an employee or an outside recipient. A resend does not include it.
- The same outside recipient email can receive a gift from more than one company. That recipient still cannot sign in. The same company still cannot use the email twice.
🍁 Business verification for Marqeta
New Marqeta programs verify the business as a package shared by that company’s programs of the same vendor: the business identity, one controlling officer, and up to four beneficial owners at 25% or more.
- The card program stays connected until that verification succeeds. A vendor status of active, on its own, does not turn the program on.
- In Canada, each person on the package verifies with Sumsub, and Custodia records the KYB decision. The Canada program stays connected until KYB is approved, every person passes, and Marqeta reports the business active.
👤 Bring an old user back on import
By default, import still leaves a terminated, archived, or inactive user alone, and a rehire gets a new account. Ask your admin if update inactive users on import is enabled. When it is, import can match that old record and update it. A row that marks the person active reactivates them. If a live user shares the same id, the live user is the one that gets updated.
🚘 Mileage can skip the receipt
A mileage type set to never require a receipt stays that way on the activity and on the expenses posted at approval. Other cash expenses with no receipt setting still require one.
🗺️ Regional controllers see their budgets
A regional controller’s budget list is limited to subsidiaries on their management teams, plus budgets they own. A budget in another subsidiary that they do not own stays hidden, including from a direct link. They can still pick a mapped budget when allocating their own expenses. Admin and finance still see the full company list.
🛒 The purchase-order buyer stays put
A purchase order that already has a buyer cannot be saved with a different buyer. Amount and date changes still save. Setting the buyer the first time still works. This keeps one approval and one budget allocation on the order.
✨ Smoother day-to-day
- Payment requests have an Audit Log showing when an out-of-pocket reimbursement was approved, by whom, and whether it was auto-approved.
- QuickBooks connect completes again.
- CSV import, including spend permissions, reads the file again.
- Team members on a user loads again.
- Card images use your product template, and the default template when that side is missing.
- A Canada offline-PIN card finishes issuance and shows up in Custodia.
- CSV export can write tag fields already on the row — budget owner, budget category, external ids — without a live lookup. An export you cancel stops instead of running on.
- Policy Manager saves are recorded with who made the change.
- Legacy screens keep grid text readable, with a floor so type does not shrink below 12px.
- An empty navigation menu no longer stops sign-in.
