Overview
The Activity Template Grantor allows Card Issuer Admins and Business Partner Admins to control which activity templates (spend and benefit types) are available to each company on the platform. You can grant new templates to a company or revoke templates that are no longer needed — all from a single screen.
Who can use this feature?
- Card Issuer Admins — can grant or revoke any activity template for any company.
- Business Partner Admins — can grant or revoke templates that fall within their managed scopes only.
Accessing the Activity Template Grantor
- Click on Platform in the top menu bar
- Select Activity Template Grantor from the menu
The page can also be found under the HelpDesk section at: Platform → Activity Template Grantor
Granting Templates to a Company
Follow the steps below to grant one or more activity templates to a company:
- Use the company search bar at the top of the page to search for and select the company you want to manage. Once selected, the page will load all templates associated with that company.
- Review the Granted Templates section to see which templates are already active for this company.
- Click the Grant Templates button (top right). This opens the Available Templates to Grant panel, which shows all templates that have not yet been granted.
- In the Available Templates panel, click on a template card to grant it to the selected company. Templates that can be granted will show a + icon on hover.
- Templates that are locked (shown with a lock icon) cannot be granted — see Notes & Restrictions below.
- A confirmation message will appear once the template has been successfully granted. The template will move from the Available panel into the Granted Templates section.
Revoking Templates from a Company
- Select the company using the company search bar at the top of the page (if not already selected).
- In the Granted Templates section, click on the template you want to revoke. This opens the Template Detail panel at the bottom of the page.
- Review the template details (settings, categories, tags, etc.) to confirm this is the correct template.
- Click the red Revoke button on the right side of the detail panel.
- The template will be removed from the Granted Templates section and will reappear in the Available Templates panel.
Filtering and Searching Templates
When a company has many templates, you can use the built-in filters to find what you need quickly:
- Search by name — Use the search bar to type a template name. Results update as you type.
-
Filter by type — Use the toggle buttons to filter by:
- All — Shows all templates
- Spend — Shows only spend-type templates
- Benefit — Shows only benefit-type templates
- Filter available templates — When the Grant Templates panel is open, use the additional search field in the panel header to filter only the available (ungranted) templates.
Viewing Template Details
Click on any granted template to see its full details in the Template Detail panel. This includes:
- Template name and type badge (Spend or Benefit)
- Scope and code identifiers
- General Activity Settings — whether the template is available in apps/UI, supports bulk creation, standalone creation, self-creation by employees, budget requirements, multi-line support, privacy, and rollover budget.
- Transaction & Budget Restrictions — default currency, default amount, daily limit, transaction limit, and card-present requirements.
- Advanced settings — recurring, bound-to-card, auto-extend, ATM, out-of-pocket, and locked-by-default options.
- Categories — expense categories mapped to the template.
- Tags and Classifications — additional metadata associated with the template.
Notes & Restrictions
- Enterprise license required for spend templates: If the selected company does not have an enterprise license, spend-type templates cannot be granted. These templates will appear with a lock icon and the tooltip "Requires enterprise license". An informational banner is also shown below the toolbar.
- Business Partner scope restrictions: Business Partner Admins can only manage templates that belong to their managed scopes. Templates outside their scope will show a lock icon with the tooltip "Outside managed scope".
- Card Issuer Admins have no scope restrictions and can manage all templates for any company.
- Changes take effect immediately — granted templates become available to the company right away, and revoked templates are removed from the company's available options immediately.
