Overview
Card binding in Custodia allows you to restrict a specific card so that it can only be used for one designated activity. This is useful when you want tighter control over spend, such as limiting a card to a single business trip, event, or campaign budget.
When a card is bound to an activity, transactions on that card must be associated with that activity. If the card is unbound, it can be used across multiple eligible activities based on the user’s permissions and available budgets.
This guide explains how to bind a card to an activity and how to remove that restriction if needed.
How to Bind a Card to an Activity
1. From the top menu, navigate to Activity > Activities.
2. Locate the activity you want to update.
3. Click the green pencil icon on the right side of the activity row to open the edit screen.
4. On the activity edit screen, locate the Card section
5. Click the arrow next to the card icon to open the card selection dropdown.
6. Select the card you want to bind to this activity.
7. Click Save in the bottom left corner.
Once saved, the selected card will only be usable with this specific activity.
How to Unbind a Card from an Activity
1. Navigate to Activity > Activities.
2. Click the green pencil icon next to the activity you want to edit.
3. Open the card dropdown menu again.
4. Select No Restriction
5. Click Save.
