The transactions in the Custodia platform are mapped to varies accounting categories. When a merchant is paid with a Custodia credit card, their Merchant Category Code (MCC) defines the correlation to the categories in the system.
At times, an MCC will not match the approved categories in the Activity.
For example, when buying a sandwich at a gas station - you might swipe your card and expect it to utilize your Meals Activity.
However, the MCC that the merchant returned, might be associated with gas establishments, which will not match the Meals Activity approved MCCs, in which case the enduser will need to change the category of their purchase in the mobile app.
Mobile App:
- The dates of the activity must align with the date of the transaction
- The activity line item category must match the transaction category
- The activity must have enough budget remain to allow the expense
