Overview
Reclaiming a budget allocation (Activities) allows you to return unused funds back to its parent budget or sub-budget.
Allocations are where spending actually happens. Reclaiming ensures that any leftover funds are not left sitting at the activity level and can be returned to the parent budget.
How It Works
Think of an allocation as a smaller box used to capture spend. Once that box is no longer needed, any remaining funds can be returned to the larger budget.
Basic flow:
- Navigate to My Budgets -> Open your Budget Overview
- Review Top Allocations
- Choose the Allocations you want to Reclaim
- Select Reclaim All
- Choose the % amount to reclaim from the selected Allocations
- Remaining funds flow back to the budget owner
Key Considerations
- Funds return to the budget owner
This applies even if the allocation sits under a sub-budget - Recurring allocations cannot be reclaimed this way
These must be managed separately - Spent funds are not affected
Only the remaining available balance is returned
