A spend permission allows you to create an activity on behalf of another employee in your organization. Instead of the end user submitting their own request, an admin, manager, or authorized team member can initiate the activity for them and define the approved budget, time frame, and relevant details.
Spend permissions can be created from both the web application and the mobile app, giving you flexibility depending on where you are working. Once created and approved, the activity functions like any other approved activity and can be used according to the defined rules and limits.

- From the top menu select Activity->New Spend Permission.
- Select the Activity Type from the available tiles for your organization.
- Select the Employee from the dropdown for whoever you would like to create the activity for.

Enter all of the information required for the activity:
- Select the Expense Type most relevant for your request.
- Enter the Amount that you need for your request.
- Select the Currency desired for your request.
- Select a Date that this request should expire.
- Add a description of the expense.
- If necessary, add tags associated with the request.
- If necessary, enter the merchant or merchants that will be used when spending money against this request. Please note that if the merchant does not match this activity will be ignored at the time of the transaction.
- Change the Cost Center, if necessary. The default one will be entered automatically for the employee.
- Press Next.
- The next screen will allow you to review the request. After review, press Activate.
